Did your brushless come with the drive shaft strut nuts and bolts installed?

I didnt notice my 2 were embedded in packing foam and not on the boat. I ran it,it hopped uncontrollably the first time i ran it and flipped and sunk. Destroyed my batteries worth $100. I didnt notice the nuts were missing till a post mortem on the boat.Nowhere does the manual say anything about this, its supposed to be ready to run out of the box,it totally slipped past me that they werent there. Tower hobbies told me call aquacraft. Any ideas or thoughts?

people rich enough to afford a boat like that deserves that just kidding, i just read the instructions online and it said NOTHING about this, aquacraft should do something about this (replace it). Ya ready to run means charge batterys and go. Tough luck, best wishes

Did you recover the boat with batteries? Batteries aren't destroyed from water, you can dry them out and use them again. Did you tape the hatch shut?

No the hatch wasnt taped shut,i wasnt racing and it was the first time in the water,i was just putting around with it,hit the throttle once and it started hopping and rolled. I know DC power sources like batteries usually arent affected by water, but these batteries now will not take a charge and are stuck at around 3.5 volts.

Water will create a short between the cells. This short is at a very low current and would take a while to drain packs. What packs are they?

Learn to use hatch tape, without it your hull will never be sealed.

Duratrax 4200's. I didnt tape cause it was a first run,i wasnt racing and wasnt going to hit full throttle, this happened 75 feet out in the middle of the pond at about 50% throttle.
Whats the best tape to use anyway? any recommendations?

If the boat sits in water the hatch is tapped. It will really save you a lot of trouble later whether you do 2mph or 35mph.

I use Clear Renfrew Hockey Tape

Oh, and try C/10 Charge for 16 hours. If that fails try hitting the packs at 6A. They should take a charge.

The fact that it was the first run is no excuse not to tape the hatch,,,first runs are usually when things go wrong. Lesson learned.
Also RTR should, but does not always mean ready to run,,,,,always go over any RTR and look for things missing etc.
