Just wanted to send out a rave for a change...I have been using a Hyperion P-1913 motor for about 3 months now with many great flights. I was bummed out when the motor started to smoke the other day. To my relief, the distributor for Hyperion, Empire Hobby, is going to replace the motor for free...From my first email yesterday until today is all the time it took Hyperion to get on the ball and take care of me...I did pay more for this motor than most other motors in it's power class but you get what you pay for, for realz....I will buy another one when I finally buy my HDX 450.

Cussing to follow if they re-neg!! LOL

Peace,

Z

Thats what that tiny chrome plated looking thingy is? how many amps peak and how many watts is it? Is it a 1913-6 or 8 or 10?
Who sells them (besides RC Unlimited as they charge to much for everything)?
How about http://www.allerc.com/index.php?cPath=7_76_77&osCsid=566d5d477c405c2fca1830632b90abd7 ??

Hey,

All i did was scratch the blue paint off the can with my fingernail. I was going for the matched look with the silver on my head.

My exact motor is the HYPERION P1913 3700kKV 6 TURN 2.3 MM SHAFT 4 MAGNET, bought from rcsupersales.com. I bought the last one back in February and it still says Sold Out on his page. I am actually a bit fed up with Kyle's customer service. He never got back to me about this issue but when Empire Hobby called me they said they talked to Kyle that same day on the phone. I guess he screens his calls and answers from suppliers but won't answer if it's a customer. I still have not got an email back from him. I wrote him a while back about a separate issue and nothing....I know that he drop ships from I think Horizon Hobby. He does carry some items, how much merchandise is a mystery...I am done with Drop Ship businesses though....Maybe if he opens a real physical shop, I will order from him again.

Ran a drop ship business years ago with medical equipment. Made a deal with a couple of suppliers. Don't know if it still is but it used to be the way to go if you didn't want the overhead of inventory. Not as much compitition back then either, as internet was a non profit toy.
Actually was considering to do it again but I think King 11 parts are much to limited.
Figured you took off the blue coating, as only seen them painted.
Went to Kyles site, He seems to have a large selection of motors. I keep seeing 4000K motors popping up for kings but thats way too fast for most applications as you have drop way down on Pinion size to like 8-9 tooth and I think thats too much of a load on the main gear with only 1 tooth in full engagement. Trex had a step down arrangement which allows them to use a 12-15 tooth pinion.
I see though that he has the HDX/Sonix type motors have to look over his site a little more.
Nice to find a alternative to the 3800 that is about the same price. Notice that the 3800-3900 seem to last forever while all the others burn up or have the insulation fall off the wires or whatever.
Did you say you got a frame stiffener? Bet half the reason your frame cracked is your hanging a battery on the front of it and flexing it.
I notice that many use the 3.17 mm shaft. Do you know if that shaft dia uses the same pitch gears as out little 2.3 dia shafts? I think they say somewhere that the 3.17 shaft uses a .50 pitch gear.
