Quick Radio Question - 7/24/2008 11:41:37 AM

Status: offline 		I have a brushless motor, Mystery 60A ESC without BEC and I have an Associate TR203A micro receiver.

Now I know I dont have BEC so does that mean I just need a 4.8V NiMih or is there another way around it? Will UBEC take the place of BEC on the ESC? Or will Is till need a separate battery?

I just found this stuff out last night and I was hoping to get my boat in the water tonight (not gonna happen).

Status: offline 		Yes, an external BEC is for exactly that purpose, check out Castle Creation, theirs is very good and probably cheaper than a good battery pack, well cheaper if you don't have one lying around already

So where Im at is do I need a separate battery pack? or just the UBEC? or both?

Status: offline 		Ok I ordered up a UBEC. I read the description and I think its what I need. Been out of the RC hobby for a long time now.

Status: offline 		One or the other, not both. my choice would be for a UBEC or any other external BEC. I don't use receiver battery packs on any of my E-powered planes.
