Is the ESC what my controller communicates with? And, if so, if I have a Mini Rio and I get a Thunderbird 54 ESC off ebay, how do I make sure it will work with my current radio... or am I missing something? Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am looking at a HXT 380S Brushless 3900kv motor for my Mini Rio and need to know what else I'll need

I believe the mini RIO uses a receiver/esc combined unit. To run different motors ect, you will need to purchase seperate pieces. You will need a receiver, esc, and brushless motor.
