Status: offline 		I am going to hopefully get a Dual Sky Extra 260 EP soon which recomends the use of a 4s 3700 mAh. However I have a spare Maxamps 3s 5000mAh lying around (that is actually 35g lighter) and was wondering if i could use this instead. I am not going to be flying extreme 3D with the sticks in the corners all the time where i need lots of power so this setup should be OK. Am i right?

Status: offline 		Ray ... it all depends on your motor, some motor may be rated for 4S-5S and if you use a 3S its pathetic. There are some motors rated for 4S will run fine on 3S, like my AXI 2826/12, that I have run on 4S and 3S on the same plane but of course the performance on 3S is so so only. So it really depends on your motor and prop. In short when you drop to 3S you can increase the prop diameter and pitch.

I don't think the DS 260 will fly with much performance on 3S ... its not that small and neither is it a Piper Cub type of plane. There is also the issue of drag, nothing beats VOLTS when it comes to power for a plane ...
