The KB45 is very inefficient and will draw a ton of amps. If you run 6s, be sure to start with a very small prop as 6s would be well on the "hot" side for the boat pictured.

38 000RPM unloaded would be more suited to a hydro or rigger.

Why would you use 2200mAh cells on a high amp motor? 5000mAh minimum, 10 000mAh recommended with 25C.

THey can be ordered off of the Castle Creations site. If you want a more cost effective motor run a KB 45 motor. I'd recommending a lower kv. This will drop current consumption at a cost of speed.

Get the kb45 10XL (1200KV) if you want to use the 6S lipo set up
I am using this in a 36" hydro with a X450/3 blade prop (getting 53MPH so far)
I have a 200 amp esc but when I recharge the lipos I am only drawing around 80 amp average
You should start with a smaller prop when you have a V hull and work your way up as it will draw more amps than the hydro

I understand but it's not the most ideal wind for a mono.

maybe a gear drive could fix his problem. It might be cheaper than a new motor.

I wouldn't want to put this kind of power through gears. That would be a headache.
