Check to see if the gear for the tail belt can spin on the shaft whenyou rotate the tail blades by hand. If it does spin, as mine did, you have to change the tail drive gear assembly. Good luck, Let us know if that helps, Doc

If it was spinning counter clock wise it would be the belt.

Check to make sure you didn't reverse the gyro by accident.

With the main blades are spinning clockwise, the tail blades should spin up into the downdraft of the main blades.

The rear rotor pulley is slipping on the shaft. Grab the main gear so it can't spin and try to turn the rear rotor, if it turns, the pulley is slipping; either the rear or front one.

This can happen after a crash. Use Red locktite to cure it.

Is your servo moving all the way one way? If so, you might have a bad servo. How about the gyro/rudder settings in you transmitter? I had to set, check and set again my settings after just about every flight.

I faced similar problem sometime back, basically grub screw holding the tail slider mechanism could be loose. The problem is not easily seen during prechecks, as the tail pitch seem to work when the heli is not under forces . But after lift of the tail simply cannot hold as the tail hub keeps on slipping along with the slider.

with the heli nose to your right and the heli tail to your left; the tail rotor should spin counter clockwise. Also, make sure the direction on your GY401 is set properly, you can check that by holding the tail and move it towards you; the tail pulley should move away from you. If you move the tail away from you; the tail pulley should move towards you.

Attached is the link to bob white 401 gyro setup. It was very helpful when I built my TREX, also, it is always good to change your tail servo to a digital fast response one, I didn't do it to save couple of $$, but I endup in a bad crash. You can use the futaba 9650, just remember to change to setting in the GY401 to digital.

hope it helps!!

In my shop i have seen a few things cause this. One is interference from the tail system on the electronics. Try rerouting the wires. Also i have had a few with slightly loose tail blade grips. And of course there is the occasional failure of the servo. These are just a few of the things i have seen come by my work bench recently.
