Im ordering a maxamps 3s for my brushless rc18t. It should fly. I have the sidewinder 5400. How fast will it go geared 14/55? just about how fast. castle says 33 on the old mamba 25 with a 2s. So i say about 45 ish.

well, my 18R (smaller wheels than the 18T) with an 8900kv on a the 3s with a fresh charge @ 15/60 goes about 60... so 14/55 with a few less kv but slightly larger wheels would be about the same, probably a little faster.. the circumference of the wheels changes things a LOT.. because that gauges how far the car travels per one revolution of the wheel.. and at those high rpms the tires baloon out increasing that figure.. so I guess you set the bar at the base circumference knowing that it will increase some..

edit: DarkHorse made this nifty calculator.. I hope he doesn't mind me re-posting it..

WOW over 50 lol. I think that i might need a new chassis. The stock one has so much flex. The battery i ordered is a 31c which is pretty huge lol. I cant wait.

yeah - saw your videos. I was just saying in general... I am so used to my 2s it seems kind of boring now.. good run times and decent speed with the 8900Kv 18R though... and the esc doesn't get too hot.. the cheap chinese esc I have gets really hot with the 3s but my sidewinder and mamba-25 stay pretty cool. the power from the 3s is just fun.. very fun. muahahahahah

so when is the house jump?? ;-)

i been running a 18t with the 3 cell for years now and it really fast, the only problem i found by moving to a 3 cell is parts start braking pretty regularly . the servo will be the first to got if you running on concrete then right on down the line. mine is as bullet proof as they get and still lol. i live around the corner for the hobby shop i hope you do because you will be there allot lol

true... my hs-65mg servos have held up really well on my 18R and 18T... I toasted one hs-65hg with the carbide gears.. but these mg ones are pretty sturdy. I can tell that the servos struggle a bit while the car is under intense power... I finally did the 10th scale servo mod on my latest 18R and you can tell it's a lot easier to maneuver while under power... the steering is snappier and solid. servos aside the drive train will take some abuse also.. on an 18T I think MIP super diffs and CVDs are a good idea.. on an 18R you can get away with the stock stuff a little longer.. smaller wheels and shorter axle shafts.. anyways.. if you're careful and don't crash too much that'll help reduce the repair costs..

i love the 1\10 servo mod. i interduce's it on one18th.com about 3 1/2 years ago and since then i have seen many people set it up the there trucks. some loved it and some hated it because there center of gravity was changed . but like i told them it is not a real indy race car it a toy and it makes no real difference if you not a top level competitor . but as for parking lot bashing it great

yep.. I am really surprised no one has come out with a 10th scale servo mod kit for the rc18 series.. it really improved steering a lot. plus if you run nimh I think it actually balances the weight out... anyways.. cool stuff man.

I'd keep it stock, plastic flexes, flexing is good

Aluminum bends and is a lot expensiver to replace even though it looks cooler

One good upgrade I found was GPM steel diff gears, haven't replaced a diff in a long time and we raced them weekly. With a 3 cell you'd probably take a diff out pretty fast
