Ok, I have this beautiful flite metal bird, it has a ST 2300 glow in it, Im tired of the glow, I love gas, simple, cheap, fun. NOW, Im running an 18x8 prop on this thing, it is far from overpowered, I need similar or better power on it with a gas engine, and I want it to fit inside the cowl, is it possible?

Ive seen alot using a G38, but hacking up the cowl on the bottom, any advice?

Thank you!

You might check out the new Evo 40CC very compact. A Brison 2.4 is also a compact motor it has a shorter cylinder.

If you want reliability try a Brison 3.2. They will swing a Zinger 20X10 with ease. I have three of them and they are great. If fitting within the cowl is an issue, The 2.4 could fit a little better. I have used Zinger 18X10 with them with great performance. My engines are muffled and I et arounf 7400 on the ground for a slightly rich run. I will try to up load some pdf files so you can see if they will fit. Dan.

Ok, I did some measuring, the 2.4 and 3.2 brisons will not fit inside the cowl, maybe no gas engine will? Anyone out there done it?

It's too bad they don't fit. You're missing out on some great engines. Not much shows if you have to do some cutting at the bottom of the cowl because of an inverted engine. If you can't find anything that fits give the Brisons a try. Dan.

Here are a couple of images of a 3.2 that I used in a Hughes Racer. It was pretty painful cutting away the cowl I had just got done making but I had to clear the engine. It also helps with cooling and carburator performance. Maybe you can get some ideas after seeing this. Dan.

If you give me a few days I can tell you if the Evolution 35 will fit in the cowl. My Midwest T-6 is getting an OS 1.60 but I do have the Evo laying around and can see how it fits the T-6 cowl. The Evo is pretty compact so it just may go.

revisiting, like a lightweight RELIABLE gas powerplant for this thing, thoughts? Thought about electric too, but a warbird being electric is just a crime. Maybe a DLE30?
