Rob asked me to show a picture of my Tiger (hope it works) in a recent PM. I haven't done much to the Tiger apart from correcting the cupola orientation and some cosmetic stuff. I've painted the sprockets, idlers and air intake pipes, and added some Tamiya pastels to make the tank look a little less toy- like whilst I decide what to do with it. At the moment I'm thinking Bovington Tiger 133 but I rather like the whitewashed winter schemes I've seen on other peoples tanks.

There you go Rob, I really do have a tank! But you knew that anyway.

Nice work, they always look a thousand times better with paint matched sprockets and idler, and with the gloss toned down a bit

Thanks lads you're very kind.

The Tamiya pastel are quite good, though they do rub off, and advantage in this case because I don't know where I'm going with it yet. I reckon the Tamiya pastels would work very nicely on 1:35 scale static tanks, which is good to know 'cause I fancy a Challenger II Op Telic in 1:35.

The Tiger looks better in the flesh, almost like it's been standing out in a light Russian frost.

@ Rob, no worries mate, be as nosey as you like. Yes, I'm always being told off for playing with it.

I need another tank, that way I can express my poor artistic talent on one and play like a schoolboy with the other one.

I will get another Tiger, it will depend on when may favoured dealer has the S&S unit with metal upgrades back in stock and how much it will cost me to tax, MoT and insure the car, at the end of this month.

You know the routine Rob, pay the boring bills and if there is a little spare, it's mine. But, don't tell the Wifendant!

Take it easy.

...and I thought I was the only one that used that line!! It worked great for years, but she's on to it. My 21 yr old daughter caught on too and has used it a couple times!

Why not have another tank? You could always use the excuse you were "deprived" as a Child, and it let a vacuum in your "growing up" experiences.....your Little Green Soldiers suffered from a serious lack of armoured support !

I know it's "thin"....but it's worth a try. (Alternatively, get your wife interested in Tanking: my "Iron Dahlia" has her own Russian Armour, and is sublimely happy! )

Ok, you lot forced me into it, I've got another Tiger on the way.

I saw one for sale on ePray starting at £14.99, the tank is faulty and has no battery or charger but is full S&S. The fault is that the turret won't turn right (I wonder what that could be? ).

I mailed the seller and asked if there could be a "buy it now" if I asked really nicely and the reply was "yes, £25 plus postage". So, I went for it. It worth that for the sum of it's parts I think, considering the rip of merchants we have to put up with in the UK.

I may just use it for parts, or I may restore it to health. Either way I can work on one and play the heck out of the other, whatever I decide.

I'll have to confess to the Wifendant, but not until it turns up, and I'll say it only cost a tenner.

I'm a rotten swine, I just told the missus about my new Tiger and "implied" that it cost £14.99. I'll never go to Heaven at this rate.

Stan you are a naughty boy and you should sit on the naughty step for ten minutes or until the bruising goes down after your missus has hit you with the rolling pin
ROFLMAO failing that retire to the nearest pub and have some anaesthetic (booze) before you tell her the real price ( dulls the pain)

Stewart, I deserve everything I get, if I get caught that is.

I'll claim mitigating circumstances, I was influenced by bad people on the internet who took advantage of me when I was vulnerable.

Gents,

The seller has other faulty tanks listed if you're interested. Her eBay name is "misscastle", if you see something that could be of use drop her a "question to seller" and see if there's a deal to be had.

There are tanks with metal upgrades on offer, by the way.
