Status: offline 		Thanks , I on the fence , got a great price on the ASP 180 for $239 , I know can get the 160 e-flight for $179 , speed control for $130, I am not counting the batterys in the comparison .

This would be my first giant eletric project , but e-flight is starting to intrigue me

Status: offline 		This will be my first large electric as well. I do have some knowledgeable people at Pinnacle hobbies up here guiding me on this build. I travelled quite a bit down to Harrisburg in the 90's and remember going to several fields around PA. The one I remember best was on an old dump site and there was a hobby shop near by. Funny I was just up in Markum Canada for a national Hockey Tourney , found a cool little hobby shop but it was mostly cars and helis ect

Please keep me posted on your selections , I know that Hobby king has some good deals on the compoants , Kahlog has his BF109 converted over and final weight was around 17lbs

Status: offline 		I was contracted to build this for a Military antique store here in Toronto. I used a F-104 wingtip tank for the body. Foam wings and fiberglass engine nacelle. During the build a flying buddy of mine started to think that this puppy could fly if we were to launch it. We were thinking of using a couple hundred yards of bungee cord . We had access to an old air base in southern ontario and my friends Toyota pickup truck. The though being we would sling shoot the V-1 in the air after pulling on the bungee with the pickup. After some sober reflection my friend decided he was not too interested in seeing a couple hundred pounds of missle through the rear view mirror , the flight was abandon. It probably would have wound up on "what were they thinking of " reality show. Tero T in Toronto

Have you thought of making some alternate canopies for the CMP Me-109. A Galland hood or a standard G-6 hood would be nice. The CMP canopies are quite hazy and a clear canopy would be nice if one were to make a scale cockpit. Tero T in Toronto

Status: offline 		One gentleman is sending me his fuse so I can make a cockpit kit for it. I also plan on making a mold for the canopy so I can pull extras. I hope to have the fuse in about a week so i can start work on it...I would have to look into making the Galland .....

Status: offline 		I once checked in to the cost of a lightweight metal canopy frame, but unfortunately the start up cost was around 80 euros. Each canopy would also be 80 euros. Of course, the more canopies sold the more the start up cost could be distributed.

I would be most interested in a good canopy from you. As was stated before the CMP canopy is crap, and isn't really even a F version canopy...

Status: offline 		Its a 26cc motor so should be just fine. Suggested prop is 18x8...but the rpm's seem a little low to me at 7100. I dunno. ive not run a gas motor in a plane yet. I have one unused, but, Im used to seeing 9000 rpm's on a glow motor when using an 8 pitch prop to get good speed.
Maybe if you run a 16x10 or 17x10 the pitch will make up for the lower rpm's. Please...those in the know with gas motors...speak up.
A buddy of mine has a larger 50cc from hobbycity(same one i have in box) in a 86" TF P-47 spinning a 20x10 prop. That plane really flies well, so maybe its the pitch helping it out.

Status: offline 		crrcpro gf26i v2 would be a better choice the mounts would make it simple compared to cutting everything out and trying to glue a firewall in at the right angle.

Status: offline 		I have been thinking about both gas or electric for my plane. I have no experience with gassers, but my LHS guys tell me the Evo 26 would be plenty for this plane, even with retracts and scale details added. Is that correct? I see you went with the Evo 35....do you think that is needed or were you going for overkill? Plus, how do you intend to deal with cooling?
