Well.....guess I got problems here.[&:] I have a brand spankin new Novak GTB /6.5 combo, I installed everything into my new car, hooked up my battery, set the ESC up and tested the car out in the garage a little. I took out the battery pack (2s Lipo) and let the car sit for 2 weeks. I charged up my pack and put it in the car tonight to go to the track for practice. I plugged it in, turned the radio on then the car, I checked the steering, it went all the way over to one side and stayed there, I went to try and move the wheels back to center and the esc started to sizzle and smoke, I had to yank the battery out. I looked over everything and don;t see anything wrong, I try hooking the battery back up, as soon as I plug it in the ESC starts pouring smoke. [:@] I just bought this thing and have'nt even had a chance to run my car with it! I bought this less than 30 days ago so I call Tower. They won't do diddly for me, they say I have to call Novak. Just great!!! [:@] I'm out over $200 and have'nt even used the thing, plus I have a race coming up on the 16th. Guess I'll call Novak tomorrow and see what they say. And......NO......I did'nt hook up anything wrong, it is factory wired, plus I tested everything after I did the intitial installation. I'm not a happy person right now.

take it back to wherever you bought it hope you saved youre receipt. novak is very good about taking care of customers. ive seen alot of gtb novaks go poof in the last couple months. question is youre radio a 2.4 ghz spread spectrum type radio? cause i think the gtb is truly designed for a 2.4 ghz system and that may be why thease are going up in smoke cause some people arent using the right radio? i dont know its just a thought

Novak makes a std GTB and a spread spectrum unit. I bought it at Tower and they are paaing the buck along to Novak.

Sorry to hear that it went bad.. that sucks for sure.. but I think Tower was not in the wrong to tell you to talk to Novak, though.. since it was not a dead on arrival deal.. it worked for you, but then it went bad.. so now it is a manufacturer warranty issue.. Tower is really just a retailer.. No worry, Novak will take care of you I am sure! Good luck!!

The worst part is I spent half the money on a Sidewinder / 5700kv combo and have had no issues at all with it. ( and I run it hard!) [:o]

I have not had any problem w/ any of my Novak products.. so maybe it is just luck.. I am sure they will get it fixed in no time!

Yeah, novak support is really good. It's warrantied so no worries about that. It does suck you'll most likely miss your race unless you get it mailed out now and call them to see if they can rush you a new one.
