You know whats funny, i got the side kit for my friend and all those peices you mentioned are missing also. Weird, funny how its 2 years old since you posted this.

I got it off Ebay, but not NIB. It was New but missing tires, silver can, ESC, dust shield, wing, and decals... Got some sourcing to do.

The pic I posted is what I got. If anyone is intrested PM me. I maybe able to get them. TB01 kits with missing tires, silver can, ESC, dust shield, wing, and decals.

Anywhere I can get a dust cover, wing, and decals?

More pics to come. Im going to build a Drift version without Foam, and try to lighten it up. Also a RALLY version with foam, dustshield, and rally block tires. So 2 TB01s setup for different conditions!

Being that I have no motor or ESC. Any suggestions on brush or brushless? My budget is around $100 for both esc and motor.

Did you buy it off eBay?! NIB?

Where's the dust shield / cover?!

Be sure to post some pics!! Good luck!!

Ok guys and girls i have the gmade shocks setup on the rear to my tb-01. i am in love! tamiya shock springs are to narrow. tc3 shock springs look like they will work. the down side of these shocks is there wide your going have to shim the shock so the upper arms dont rub on the shock collar.
also have the tamiya 26mm wide rims the +2 off set with no body rub. major drool factor on that one. i will post pics in a couple of days.

Lady's and Gentlemen, Children of all ages are you tired of your tamiya gearing? if so, i have some news for you! take a tb-evo 3 spur gear adapater and cut the pin grove 2-3 mm deeper. shorten the shaft by 1-2 mm. Presto instant ability to run kimburo gears with some work on the kimburo spur gear of corse.

I just bought an Escort MK2 body on ebay (the two pieces one) for the TB-01!

Now I think I'm going to need longer and smoother shocks so I can run the car up higher. Anybody knows how long are the Tamiya TRF shocks at their shortest and longest of their range? (Mounting hole to mounting hole)

I see that the Tamiya TRF dampers for TCs (part 42102) is listed as 55 mm. In measuring the plastic shocks (that I'm replacing) sitting on one of my vehicles, this equates to a hole to hole measurement as far as I can tell.

Now, I didn't pull my shock out and stretch it to the limit, but with the stock stiff springs, I believe it's at near full extension (holding the chassis in my hand, not resting on the ground).

So I think that the TRF dampers 42102 is 55mm from hole to hole, extended.

Not sure if that helps you though.

I think the next step up would be their front TRF "buggy" shocks, which are 70 mm hole to hole (I measured on my DB01). Not sure what they have in between 55 and 70.

Thanks for the help, yes it does help as I did not find the official spec for the trf lenght, but I did read they replaced pretty much any touring car shock, and tamiya touring cars apparently have 55mm.

I ordered the trf anyways, as they are good shocks and I see in the kit pictures there are two different rod ends you can choose from to thread on the shock shaft, longer and shorter. Hopefully 55mm is the shorter one and the longer one is like 5mm more. Anybody can confirm that?

If that is not high enough I'll find even longer rod ends or try to make a custom shock tower with aluminium.

Cant wait to see how the escort body will look with my fake tall sidewall rims/tires and long suspensionn arm set !

kind of like this real life one:

I have found someone saying the trf shocks are 55mm when using the shorter rod ends which is great news for me, see post 10:

Edit : I just bought soft trf springs too, I want the escort to behave like the real escort with plenty of body roll, squat and dive

Good deal man, glad you're finding the info you need. It's tough, as there are several "TRF dampers", so finding a measurement on one vs. another takes a bit of homework sometimes.

Just received the trf shocks, along with tamiya 2 piece wheels and wide rear tires. Not that my stock powered tb-01 needs wider rears, it's just for fun. The two pieces wheels are nice, you can mount them 2 ways as the chromed part is asymmetrical. One way is +2 mm offset everywhere, and the other way is +4 front and +10 rear. Which means I can mount the wider tires in the rear without them sticking out (+2 all around).

I mistakenly got the short version of the soft tamiya springs. They work but I am already maxing out the adjustment just to be normal ride height. I already ordered the normal ones to replace.

i think the wide rear wheels and tires will be nice with the escort mk2 body.

Yes Tamiya makes these wheels, part number 50673 is the wide rear and 50672 is the normal width front. They also make another different pattern, more like gold center bbs mesh type. I'll try to find a picture of the wheels disassembled and in high offset setting.

the tires are HPI. Tamia makes some wide tires too but I liked the threads better on the HPI for more versatility (tamiyas are either slicks or semi slicks).

This is as high as I can go with the trf shocks, short springs and long shock rod ends. With that setting I just barely have any droop. Will probably run it slightly lower and get a bit more droop.

Would be great if the rear can be raised up a little bit!

Yeah.. For some reason the tb-01 always seems to have the saggy butt

Hopefully I'll have more range of adjustment with longer springs. Maybe I'll have to go with harder springs, but with the shocks at a greater angle to increase usable travel...
