Yours looks good, Dick. Mine was very similar, but was chafing... evidently, it is only a matter of "wire memory", how tight the twist is, etc. Too many variables in my thinking. I fixed mine. Won't have to worry about it.

Here is myradio -
no problems with the wires
the loop is such that there is no movement in the wires and there is no interferrence with chip on the adjacent board.
( I also used some scraps of EPP to locate the battery)

Dick, look at the pictures in post #1. Then look at your black wire. I think you will see a small nick-like area in the same spot. Yours has not rubbed through and/or has sufficient clearance so as not to have caused the problem some others are seeing. But it looks to me as if there is a small, and as of yet insignificant, cut/scrape on one of your wires.

You are seeing camera flash on dust particles
I checked with a high powered set of lenses. When I was doing magazine articles -these drove me nuts.

Dick Hanson, That is great news. Good that it is not being chafed.

I put a small piece of tubing over the wires. I have about 2 hours on my TX with the tubing and it works perfectly so far. No binding.

Add another one! In my case the red wire is cut almost all the way though. Only a few strands left! I was probably only a few flights from loss of control of my 40% plane. This would have been very dangerous. JR/Horizon need to deal with this issue quickly!

I just checked mine, and it is fine. Is there a chance that this is related to a particular production run of the transmitter? Mine came from the first shipment.

Just thought I would say that F L Y I N G G I A N T S have just put up as the main article on their home page about this, so now Horizon can not ignore it. I checked my DSX9 (international version of the X9303) last night and I could not find any problems.

I think the AMA should be notified and as the insuring body should have the power to demand Horizon find a fix and recall all 9303 radios due to the legal safety matters involved.

Chalk up another one with the problem...X9303 Heli version.
My red wire is chafed through the insulation, but no strands of the copper wire are cut through yet.
The black wire also shows signs of chafing.

From what I've read in all the threads (here, in RCG and F.G. )....no...because the 2.4 has an additional circuit board that the reg. is mounted to...the 72mhz does not have this apparently?

Probably wouldn't hurt to check though, just to make sure...I think I would just for the heck of it.

RCU doesn't permit links to that other forum, nor clear text references to it, or any of it's posts/threads.
Don't know why, but that's the fact.

Never mind about the link to the "big airplane" forum. I did a google search and found it. Seems those guys are finding the same with their transmitters. Thanks

Just checked mine. I had one of the first ones to hit the market in Sept/oct. The blue wire is almost cut through to the copper strands. This heads up has saved me a bundle of money.

Send me your plane and transmitter and I'll try it! Seriously, I alluded to that in an earlier post. It may only affect ailerons or it may also disable other functions. Who knows? I just hope Horizon comes up with a plan soon that entails a fix that does not wipe out the programming that we have for our models. I know that I have one model that took me, Horizon support and few others to get it working. I'm not sure I could again find all the settings for that model in my transmitter. Then copy them and reprogram if the repair wiped out the model info after I get the transmitter back from Horizon.

Add me to the list too... my wire was exposed, insulation completey cut through on the black wire. No copper damage yet, glad I caught it. I rerouted my wire to go around the mount point for what would be a ratcheting thing like the throttle gimbal does. This way the wire is a good ways away from that regulator. Had to loosen the wire retainer clip and rotate it 90 degrees to the right to get enough slack to do this though.
