I know there is a RTR thread but due to the huge differences in the RTR and the pro I think it would be useful to have a separate one for the pro. Somewhere we can discuss our M18T Pro's, set ups, problems and so on.

So to get this thread going, please post up if you have an M18T Pro and let us know what you are running in it and post some pictures if possible.

I have only just got mine and am running:
Motor: mamba 8000 (6800 is here now though so will change to that)
Esc: mamba micro pro
Batts: 6-cell elite 1500 (will break up and make into side by side layout)
servo: hs-85mg
Pinion: 12t

I will post up some pictures when i get the body painted up.

Here's my M18T pro and my review:
M18T Pro.... I'm in love

I haven't been running this as of late (been busy w/ work and moving), but its one of my favorite mini's. My only wish is that someone would make a "real" buggy body for it so I don't have to keep converting my own from other r/c's.

Set-up:
- old school Mamba 25 esc
- Hacker 4200kv motor
- Dualsky GT series 1300mah 25C lipo
- using xray foams now
- old school one18th.com rc18t buggy body

Thanks,

I wish they would make a wing mount as well, as most people are using them on the m18t pro. But you did a good job with the buggy body.

Are the sway bars needed?
I have not fitted them, as i don't know what conditions they are best for. Or are they best for all so just fit both sets?
Will be runningon a carpet or dirt track.

Depends on the track and driving method. I use sway bars, but it suits my tires and track better.

Here is a good article.

Hey,
Just an update and a question. I have painted my body now, not that well but will post some pics tomorrow.
I was running it for the first time properly in the street with 1/10th tires and i could not get it to go straight, it would go left or right depending on what why you had just been steering.
I am not sure what is causing this, could it be play in the steering? the servo is a reasonably new hs-85mg. It was really bad, could not figure it out at the time.

The 85mg sometimes could suffer loosing its center like the 81mg (not as often though). Disconnect the steering rod from the servo and see if it recenters itself in the exact same position everytime.

Just checked that and its not that. The servo saver seems to move a bit before the servo arm does(i know it should a little).
I will have another try today.

Here are some pics of the body:

Hmm, did you install both c clips on the servo saver? Its supposed to take both. Also, disconnect the servo rod, use it to see how easy it is to move the bellcrank and tires. Maybe you have some binding happening?

Yeah i have both rings on. Will disconnect it but i think it is ok.
I found that the arm that holds all the turnbuckles(one mounted to the top deck) moves up and down a few mm. Have I put it together wrong or does it always have this play?

Thanks
Alex

You might need to shim it. I use the 3 racing to get rid of all play in it. But even without it shouldnt be acting like your having. Is your front diff tight enough?

The ball diff?
Yeah that is nice and tight.

I will see if i have put it together wrong, as it has a lot of play.

I have removed the play from the steering assembly, that is amazingly play free now.
So it must be the servo or radio. What are good servos? I thought the hs-85mg was good, was expensive. But i will be annoyed if i get a new servo and it is the radio.

Anyone using mambas in these? As i am running a 6800 on stock plastic spur and 12t pinion. It is getting hot after short runs, is this too high a pinion?
What are pinions are you running?

Hey Alex73, check out these videos of the XRAY M18T PRO. Take a look at the second one. The video is from England and it looks very similar to your M18T PRO. Is this you?
