Decent low end torque but very weak on top end. Its an OK engine but there are alot better. The Sportwerks 26 v2 will flat out smoke the Axial. The SW is easier to tune and will hold a tune better. The Losi 427 is also a great engine. Spend a few more dollars and get a LRp but if you cant spare the extra cash get a SW. It is a much better engine than the Axial.

Well seeing that he is looking at the axial makes me believe that he is looking for a CHEAP decent engine so I dont think he is interested in a $200 engine. If he was the Picco would be at the top of the list because nothing stock can beat the picco for $200. For under 140 there is no better engines than the 26v2, 427 or even the Sh .28 p3.

My friend had an axial .28RR in his buggy, i had one of my Picco .28FTT in mine.
Serioulsy the .28RR is no match with the Picco.

On a 14T the .28rr could get same top speed. but took longer to reach the speed.
And if you gear the picco wider , goodbye its gone.

The Spec 1 S is a very good sport engine. Great torque and good power. I had one and I loved it, but have since upgraded to the torque monster K5.9 Anyways, check out www.rc411.com and look up the Axial X Dyno results in the forum section. It puts out more torque and horsepower than A LOT of other .28s tested. Run some 30% fuel and a turbo head and will out run most all other non-racing oriented big blocks, provided you are geared right. This engine also loves the 3spd trans if you are going to run it in a Savage. It's a great bang for the buck.

These guys are right!! I have a RB modded Picco P3 in my Revo and a stock
P3 in my Losi Aftershock and these motors simply rock thru the entite rpm
range. I am running TKO ceramic crank bearings in both engines and this is
a fantastic upgrade upgrade for around 40 bones for both the front and rear
bearings from A Main Hobbies. No other engines in this price range will best the
Picco .28 and it will kick some serious ass on quite a few upper end engines costing
double the price !!

If you are not smelling nitro fumes and listening to the sweet song your not LIVING !!
