Terrible details on it. Very simplistic. Barely pass as an Abrams, let alone an M1A2. At least, for what the price they're asking.

Like the Hobby Engine M1A1 Abrams, it suffers from serious dimension issues.

You're better off detailing and upgrading the motors and electronics of a Hobby Engine Abrams.

Sorry I don't agree at all googlydoogly, detail's not that bad, being ex Army 19K I should know, besides nothing a good modeler can't correct and metal isn't that bad to work with. The Hobby Engine M1A1 Abrams is simply toy junk (my opinion) my kid has one!

I had the money in the bank and was ready to buy one, but the phillips screw heads everywhere were just too tacky.

But does anyone know how it runs? 31lbs of metal Abrams is reason enough for me to overlook some flawed details and screw heads. Also, what's the price and where do they ship from?

So it's the price of a Tamiya Leo with radio and I'm going to take a wild guess that the electronics are not even close to the same quality. Dang.

This china made Abrams does not have effect and also does not jerk backward when firing the gun (the ESC is also of low quality. A friend of mine have bought 1 china made esc for his 1/10 Tamiya touring car and he said the durability is bad). I would wait for Tamiya if they would produce M1 as thier product have sound effect and also finely detailed on every aspect + the weight is far lighter to carry around. I have 1 unit of Tamiya Leopard and I enjoy playing with it.

I wouldn't let the screw heads deter you if nothing else does. Devcon 50% steel epoxy and body surfacer and the screw heads are history. The maker countersunk most all the ones I've seen for that reason in my opinion. At least you can
see how it is made before finishing it.

My 2 cents.

I don't know, Tanque. There are a lot of ugly screwheads to deal with that are visible in that picture alone. Heaven knows how many there are on the entire tank. I guess if the buyer is on the other end of the spectrum from the rivet counters and just wants a metal tank, it might be worth it. For me, there is no point in owning one with that price tag that has so many eye-catching flaws in the facade.

To each their own, though!

Yes, the screws that aren't countersunk would be more of a problem. I suppose I just favor metal over plastic
and I'm used to doing more fundamental cleanup to make an otherwise soumd model better. To me this particular model
is academic as I don't have much interest in modern armor in 1/16. I do understnd how most folks wouldn't want to have
to improve a $1,200 model...

I'm not a big Abrams fan (a Chally II would be better for me), but for an all metal (only one on the market) tank, I'd get it. I dare say, no one hesitates to help HL with their dimensional or cosmetic imperfections. Why not this one? I wouldn't let those screw heads stop me ... I'm a modeler first and an R/Cer second. Find out what needs to stay and what can be filled in.

There's a few over at The Panzer Forum who are taking matters in hand and making a real looker out of this tank.
