Status: offline 		I usually restrain my receiver in my air planes with a piece of Velcro. No foam. No rubber bands. No tape. Just the receiver velcroed to the inside of the airplane.
Now I'm told this method isn't very good for vibration isolation.
Can any of you guys tell me of personal experiences with receiver mounting?

Status: offline 		I too have read (and agree with) the statement that VelcroŽ doesn't absorb vibration well.

I have used a variety of mounting methods - always wrapped in foam, with tape around it:[list]
  • Stuffed into small compartment with more foam to keep it in.
  • Rubber banded to inside of fuselage.
  • Zip-tied to inside of fuselage.
  • Double-sided tape and zip-tied to fuselage.
    [/list]All these worked fine, except the rubber bands decayed after six months and needed replacement. If using zip-ties, leave just enough slack so you don't compress the foam.

    Status: offline     		If you look around you can find lots of foam from packing and use it to keep your receiver nice and snug. I was able to get enough foam from a box that a hard drive came in. To do two planes.

    Status: offline     		I wrap my batt and Rx in foam, then wrap 3M fiber tape around it, followed by velcro "loop" (heavy-duty adhesive type). The velcro "hook" is applied where you want the batt or Rx to be in the fuse. Best of both worlds........
