I can see already that my wasp won't make it through the season. I have been using it to learn slow inverted limbo passes ,hovering and things like that. I built this plane to bang around. I want to start to plan my next 40 size bang around funfly
Is there one of the morris funfly planes that stands out above the rest? Looking for a hover , slow stall rate and good inverted flight.
If it comes in an ARF that's even nicer.

Take a look at the Aeron, though we do not offer ARFs. Our customers claims that it out performs the Top Cap. You can see it at:

The Top Cap is Okay but the knife will out perform it anyday.

I fly the Morris Fun Design with the rear exhaust Rossi 45 2000 (Powerhouse). I like the plane. never see many discuss it in RC Forums. It requires a rear exhaust engine because of the wing location. Mine weighs 4 lbs 10 oz which is 6 oz heavier than my Dazzler/OS 46FX. I like the Fun Design, but why isn't it a popular Morris plane? There is only one other Morris plane in our club and it is exactly like mine, so I really don't have much to compare it to.

Hi, Ramcharger

I think it has to do with the rear exhaust. You're limited on what planes you can use with that motor.

I have the M. Fundesign the Powerhouse .45 but haven't built it yet.
How do you like the .45 with that plane? Hows the throttle response?

Don

what engine do you guys use for the knife??
I watch a guy fly a knife one time. he didn't fly flat. he flew knife edge the whole flight. he would knife right off the ground. then he would make some turns and rolls and always return to knife edge. he would return both ways in other words some times with the bottom to him and some times with the top to him. he had completely mastered his knife edge flight. I have no doubt he could knife edge right under a 7 ft limbo.he spend the whole time in a knife edge flight. ONLY going flat to land...
how's that for rudder control.

I'm currently using a 12x4 APC prop with 10% Cool Power. The engine will get to 12,600 rpm maybe higher (13,000 with a 11x6 APC). The engine could use a quicker response. They say this engine is also heavy but I don't know the weight. The engine always runs wire to wire and has about 50 or more flights on it. The other Rossi 45 RE in our club on the same plane had a problem with the o-ring between the muffler and exhaust port. I think it happened because he never secured the muffler and the vibration beat it to pieces. He ran into problems getting a replacement and gave up on the plane/engine. I have heard of replacing the carb with a Perry for better response. Also, the Rossi RE/tuned silencer is very noisey and some one just commented last week end that I should get a real muffler for that engine. Ouch!!!!!!!!!!!!

The knife is a great plane, but the su-do-khoi will tumble better. Seems like the knife is aesier to hover though. They are both great planes and I am sure the top cap is no different! Just my thoughts.

How do you think the top cap will do with a tt46 with the stock muffler.

If they run as strong as the os 46 fx it will be great! If the TT has a baffle in the muffler I would take it out! I am being told you can buy a tower hobbies 46 muffler and get more power with the os, I am sure if it works on the os it would probably work on the TT. Plus they are only 12 bucks, with free shipping!

Os 46 on mine also. Great combo but the TT 46 will be great too. You are exactly right about the Top Cap and the Sudokoi tumbling better than the Knife but the knife is just so easy to hover and tailslide. The knife will spin but not all that great. As far as knife edge goes.....well read post # 8......The Knife is the first plane that I have ever had that will knife edge, Knife loop and then end right back in Knife edge.
