Hi all,

Well Ive been doing the off road secne for a good while now and they only have one off road track now. So I have deided to build a car. For the fact I have a neighboor across the street from me that i know real well and he is sponcerd by serpent i think. But anyways i was wondering if this kit is hard to build http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXNZC7&P=0

I have almost everything eles. Is there another kit around that price? I cant do tamyia because no other shop around me sells them. Tell if this is hard or not and if there is a kit like this around the same price.

Thanks kevin!

Tamiya is the only one that I know of that sells kits of comparable cars. I don't know how hard it is to build a HB kit as I've never had one, but I read all the time about how much people like their Cyclones. Really is too bad that you can't get a Tamiya, though. They make the best kits with excellent quality.

Tower is about as big as they get.. so if you can't trust Tower, I don't think you will be buying any stuff online then...

Mine didnt either when I was younger, but eventually I changed their mind. They did teach me well though as I am no careful of what websites I just give my info out too, but as Far as Tower they are the company I trust the most along with action village for my paintball stuff, just because they are big companys. As far as car goes, the cyclone has always seemed to be a good kit for the price, ive never owned one though. I am also a Tami ya guy, and I don't have ANY local hobby shops.

I hear you. My parents were wary of the net at first too, fortunately they've warmed up to it a bit. A decent security program and a reliable store reduce the theft possibility next to zero. I use the free version of antivir and it works great. As far as getting Tamiya parts goes, are you a very rough person on RCs? I'm a mild to moderate person in roughness, and I've never broken anything on my Tamiyas. They're very sturdy. However HPI and Hot Bodies make great cars too. Stay away from the E-10, though, because I've heard that it has drivetrain problems.

How hard was the steering, turnbuckles, and camber links to build? Thats the only thing I have trouble with.

The steering and cambers were no problem. The only problems I had and they were small ones was the turnbuckles were a little hard to get started but once you get 2 threads in they were easy. Also the differentials were a little bit of a pain but only took bout 10 minutes each.
