Cool! Nice job on the covering.

SeaCruisers are great airplanes. I wish one of the established R/C Airplane companies would buy the rights to it, now that it's out of production.

Grape Pains does not make a seaplane, do they???

Thanks for the comments Jim. Yeah, it would be nice if someone would keep this design alive. It's a great performer. I know when he went out of production a year or so ago, RCReport noted that he was looking for someone to buy the biz. Never heard anything more.

How about posting the dimensions of your Sea Cruiser.

Wing: Span & Chord

Stab: Span & chords

Fuselage: Overall length, nose length, rear fuselage length, height, step location

Fin dimensions

Pod: Height above wing, length, width, height.

I have a buddy, Flaps Laffert, who can draw the plans.

I still have a kit of this plane untouched other than the plans are hanging on the wall providing inspiration everytime I go into the shop. I could take them down to a local copy shop with an engineering copier and have a few sets run off. If there is enough interest I'll inquire as to the costs. It will only be my cost plus a nominal shipping charge. Any takers out there?
I must warn you however that the original drawings are not very good, (blue print) and are quite amateurish (sp?). There are no assembly instructions other than what is on the plans so it is not a project for beginning builders.
I don't think there would be a copyright violation since the company is no longer producing the kit.
Peter

We got some plans. Good flying plane. I like the configuration with the engine on the wing better than on the fuselage.

Peter, I would like to get at set of Sea Cruiser plans. I have heard tons of good things about it, but if I were to do one I'd make it bigger. Anyway would love to have a set put away for future consideration.

Hi PeterC,

Well I could be interested by your plans indeed. However, how would I pay you for that ? Moreover, copy costs might be very high, as I've already tried to have some plans copied too. It was cheaper to buy another set ... But in, our case, these plans are collectables !! you can bother asking, yes, anyway... Do you speak french btw ?

Sorry no, I don't speak French, I'm in western Canada and except for a few communities it's pretty much all English out here. Copy costs are not that bad, I have had some done of a similar size and they were in the $15 Cdn range. You could pay with an International Money Order so that would be no problem. The expensive part would probably be postage but I would only charge the actual costs plus the shipping envelope. I doubt if it would exceed $25 Cdn total. You can think about this for a while as I am going on holidays soon and won't be back until around the end of August.
The same applies to anyone else contemplating a set of drawings, cost of duplicating plus postage etc. I'll let you know the actual duplicating costs before I do anything.
