Well, my 2 week old Firestorm broke a connecting rod today. I was doing full speed when it broke and locked up. I tried pushing the truck, wheel were locked, So I tried pulling the pullstart, wouldnt budge. I pulled out the motor and could move the flywheel back and forth a bit, I instantly figured it must be the connecting rod. Pulled the back plate off and sure enough, it snapped right below the piston. Chunks of metal in the bottom end. I hope this is covered under warranty. I have been good to my truck in the short time I've had it, I leaned it out a bit but nothing too crazy. Anyone else have this problem? Truck has maybe 10 tanks through it?

wow 10 tanks is is not even broken in ,I take that back it is BROKE in .If they give you a new one or you rebuild get a temp gun and break your car in at around 200 for 8 to 10 tanks then leen it out till you get it just right then turn back ritch a little bit and when ever you run check the temp all the time i check after each tank because day to day your car can run hotter or cooler depending on conditions .

About 90% of the time a con rod that snaps just below the piston is from lean heat, if the top of the piston and cylinder walls are cherry you might get a warranty because that would proove the lack of heat...........good luck

I did the engine exchange with HPI and I think it is a great deal. it sucks though about having your con rod break. with you next engine just keep an eye on your temps and make sure you break the motor in properly and you will be fine.
