i have a Sh PT2802B-P3 engine its.28 and is on a buzooka buggy. i have tuned it several times and no matter what i do it always sounds like the engine catches up to its self. and sounds like it is running far to rich.

This only happens when i open it full throttle and engine is warmed up but when its cold i can plant it. any help would be appreciated thanks in advance.

Hey dude do you reckon you can rephrase that? "Catches up with itself" I do not understand what you mean.

Whats it doing? Is it konking out on WOT but idles fine and it runs well when cold? Actually could be too lean on the HSN it sounds. Sounds like the LSN is dialled in but the HSN is not. Does it sound like its choking when WOT? Have you tried a new plug?

In your opinion its running rich. What leads you to belive this? Is there lots of unburnt fuel being spat out the pipe?

thanks for your interest

it sounds like as i full open the throttle the engine gets a load of fuel dumped into it and it just gurgles and then stops. the low speed and high speed needles are working and the engine is running at the right temp. Do you think it is possible that for some reason the carby lets to much fuel go though it at full throttle.(sliding carby)

thanks

Standard answers here I guess: check your fuel lines / fuel tank / engine for air leaks, seal the carb and backplate, check the exhaust gaskets, give the head bolts a tighten, change the plug (hot plug for 20% nitro, and I'm pretty sure it should not be a long one like a McCoy 59 either - I use OS A3 or equivelant in my XTM 24.7 and Mach 427, cousins to your SH .28) and clean the air filter. Go back to factory settings and give it another whirl.

How old is your fuel? How old is the engine? How'd you break it in? What's your experience level? When you say "the engine is at the right temp", what do you mean by that and how are you getting that warm if you can't get to WOT and do any high speed passes?

Sounds funny to hear that it runs strong when cold and then poorly once it gets warmed up: in my (limited) experience an engine will not run quite right until it gets to at least 160-170 degrees and runs strongest above 220. When it's too cold, the mixture burns too slowly to make good power unless it's quite lean. A dangerously lean engine will *POP* and stall out when going WOT, not quite what you describe in the first post, and I think will happen at all temperatures (not just hot). I haven't ever accidentally gotten my stuff that lean, thankfully, so I'm not 100% sure of that behaviour but I've seen it happen on another guy's buggy.

i have been in nitro cars for about 3 years now. i have cheacked all the fuel lines i think it may be the back plate ill try both your suggestions. Broke it in according to the manual (2 tanks idle, another 2 low acceleration and one a bit harder) thanks for your suggestions ill give it a whirl.

I can get it up to full speed slowly but i cant get all the way but it doesnt get much higher. i really dont know but its still pretty fun just annoying

thanks
