Hi Guys can someone help me??? I've got an EMAX BL2215 Motor and I need to reverse the shaft on this outrunner. Can it be done on this motor, and if so how do I do this? I'm new to electrics and don't have that much experience yet... Thanks for the help!!

Remove the circlip at the rear end of the shaft. Loosen the set screw (1.5mm hex) which holds the shaft in the bell at the front of the motor. Press the shaft through the bell until it is flush [use a suitable sized small socket or similar against the back jaw of the vice, to prevent the bearing popping out]. Re-tighten the set screw. There is no need to replace the circlip. If you are mounting it behind a firewall for tractor (or even pusher) operation the bell and shaft can't go anywhere.

Exactly as mentioned above, mind that it needs some force to get the shaft out, you need to gentle hammer it out.
Also be careful behind the circlip is a small bronze bushing and there is also one at the other side on the inside of the bell. Make sure you don't loose them when the shaft comes out.

Did you run the motor yet? I am a bit disappointed with the running specs, they are far from what they promised on the data sheet. But that was more or less to be expected for this price.

Take care,

Filip

I wouldn't use a hammer - pressing in a vice or drill press is less likely to distort the bell.

No Filip, I haven't run it up yet, I bought it because of its price and on recommendation for the model I'm putting together. I was told not to bother with slow-fly props bigger than 10x3.8. I just wanted to get my little Sukhoi off the ground with half decent power, my local park is not that big and its not always convenient to get my club's airstrip for a late afternoon flip after work...

In that case no worries, the motor is quite good for its price as long as you don't want to get the maximum out of it.
Have fun with it.
