Hi there, I am wondering what a good flight sim would be. I have been flying for alot of years now and don't really need the practice, but who ever says they do. The reason I want a sim is because I just had surgery lastnight to repair nerve damage in my neck and back as well as in my right arm, and I will be outta the game for about 6 months or so while it heals up and I regain the use on the right side of my body. Go figure, it was an RC related accident that caused the damage, details upon request.

Bless the nurse who is letting me surf the net on the hospital equipment. I guess the next thing i need her to do is give me a sponge bath lol.......

Anyway, any advice on a good sim will be greatly appreciated. please send any replies via PM as I dont know if i will remember to check this thread.

Thanks guys/gals.

Steve

At $99, you can't go wrong with FS One. That's not to say Real Flight isn't good, I'm sure it is. I recently bought FS One for heli practice and like it very much.

I heard the Pheonix Simulator is a good sim to practice on. Closer to reality then sim is Realflight. About 2 years ago i had surgery and was in the hospital for the longest time (RC incident) and as soon as i got out i drove that same RC again...(a nitro truck) Then just recently, i had cut my left pointer finger off...couldnt drive a RC truck again (no trigger finger) So i went out and bought a blade 400 and fell in love, so after that i researched for hours each night about a simulator, heard the Pheonix simulator was the best for value, and how realistic it was. I think its around $150, realflight is $200

FMS has been around for a while, and happens to be free. It's not as realistic as say FS1 or Real Flight, but IMO it's real enough to teach a beginner the basics of flying a heli. Here's a link to a page that shows how to make the TX /PC cable with a few bucks worth of parts from Radio Shaft.

Let me know if you plan on using FMS and need a micro CP heli model for it (I have the files on my PC).
