One step at atime. No website has it all. You could spend DAYS searching and then see something you had never seen before and start reading all over again in a new direction...

Basic decisions first...

1) Off Road or On-Road?
2) Rear wheel drive (relatively skilled RC drivers only need apply) or 4wd (more expensive)
3) (The big one) How much do you want to spend?
4) Assuming the answer to the question above was 'a lot', do you plan to race?

Answer those and we'll take it from there.

If you want an 1/5 scale RC with a HUGE aftermarket, go for an HPI Baja 5b. There are more trick parts available for the Baja, then any other car out there, as well as being relatively inexpensive to get started.

Some other options are MCD's, FG, there are some new guys just getting into it like Hurax, and RedCat has some pretty new entries as well.

4 stroke??

I doubt if you can find one as a kit. And,i also doubt that you can retro fit one 4 stroke engine in there. You would be better make it yourself if you definately want a 4 stroke.Otherwise, you can get a nice kit as foxy mentioned, with a 2 stroke zen.

hmm..

FG also have huge aftermarket parts with plenty of hop-ups/bling available? & costs about the same as the FG if you compare the SS & FG Monsters. but as hes said onroad then FG is his best bet

i know you said you dont like HPI but the baja 5b has so many aftermarket supporters its hard to ignore
you can make it a great street setup with ease and a different set of tires and you can be bashing in loamy dirt
