The 3.0 only has a 2-position switch for the 3rd channel. I would imagine that somebody out on the internet has modified one with a 3-position switch. You can still use dig with the radio as-is, but you would not have the freewheel option only 4WD and locked dig.

Thank you......so basicly i should have bought the DX3R when i was looking at the two

BUT........ is "freewheel" used as often OR more than the "locked" position for most of you guys because maybe i can get away with just one option ? Or maybe i can modify it like some people do to the TRX3 Traxxas Radio, would that be possible with the spektrum dx3.0

Crawling is about function not looks, and the dremel is my friend so maybe with some help from u guys i can make it work.

I have heard of some guys that run courses in FRONT WHEEL DRIVE and use 4WD or lock the rear only when necessary. Without the rear wheels pushing, you can actually turn sharper, so I'd say the freewheel is important, depending on what your driving strategy is.

Both are equally important!! There are time you need to have rear freewheel, like sidehilling or in some steep climb situations when you need the front to settle down and make traction and then there are time when you need the rear locked liked when coming down a decent that has a drop off or an undercut and witht the rear locked you will be able to "hang" the rig off the ledge. So take it for what its worth my opinion is you need both equally if you are going to compete!!
