Hey Guys,
Trying to build the smallest fully 3D capable plane I can relatively inexpensively. I am listing some equipment I've found and would like some input. How small of a depron airframe do you think I could build to use this, or similar equipment? Any thoughts would be appreciated!

Blue Arrow 2.5g servos (lightened as much as possible, ie wires changed and bottom plates removed, etc.. have heard of guys getting them under 2g a piece??)

Spektrum Nanolite 2.4Ghz Rx (want to use my JR9303 Tx that I use for everything else.. may be able to lighten a little??)

Your suggestion for motor and ESC under or around $20 each (I use hobbycity.com a lot for inexpensive stuff and have had good luck finding cheap stuff that works by reading the owner reviews and choosing wisely)
I like the Turnigy and Hextronic brands they sell. Saw they have a super light 2g Hextronic motor and 1g Turnigy 3Amp ESC that are getting good reviews, but the only number I have seen for thrust from this combo is 20g on a helicopter tail rotor which would mean that the AUW would have to be around 12g max which I don't think I will hit with this equipment. What other motors/ESC's should I look at?

Again, the goal is the smallest plane I can build (ie, able to fly in the smallest area) without spending a fortune (ie $99 a servo for the latest/greatest thing out there)

Thanks Guys!,
Todd

By the way, does anybody know anything about the 1g "biowire" servos that hobbycity sells for $35? I'd be willing to spend the extra cash on those if they were worth it over the BA 2.5g's.
I just did a very quick "guesstimate" of weight adding up the components for the lightest setup I can find on hobbycity, and I'm guesstimateing an AUW of 20g would be achievable with some effort in around a 14" wingspan. Don't know if that little hextronics motor would be enough though without any good thrust measurements on it. What other micro motors should I look at?

I did just notice in the hobbycity ad that they claim 36g + of thrust fromt eh little hextronics... which would be PERFECT for a 20-22g plane! Hhhhmmmm..

I am not at your level, but I like the way you think. I will be watching.
Good luck.
