i have a perfectly good working CX2, just put in new gears and shaft ect: after a recent crash, i have a fully charged battery and i put it in, power on, connect, start to increase throttle, and at the halfway point it doesnt increase anymore, the heli never leaves the ground. and the green light turns red. also a yellow light in the front is always on, is that supposed to be on? i thought that was the transmiter light?i can get into extreme detail if needed, pics and videos, but im hoping someone might have a guess.

Cheers!

If you have the 4in1 the orange light should always be on. If you have a voltmeter you can unplug the motor leads on the 3in1 or 4in1 and see what the voltage is at full throttle. I never tested mine out, but it should be around 7.4V-8.42V. If it isn't for both motor pins then you might have a defective 4in1 or 3in1. If it does get that high then you probably have bad motors or something is binding or something else. Don't worry about the green light turning to red that is normal. Some pictures couldn't hurt.

Your AR6100 takes a long time to boot up. Does it always do that? And that is why the red and green light go back and forth at the beginning. It sounded healthy when it went up to throttle. I see you have the fuse on the motors. I am thinking that was a resetable fuse. So that might be the problem. I fly my CX without those, but it didn't come with them. I will keep looking at the video and pictures, but this one has me stumped. You might try contacting horizon about it. You might try rebinding the helicopter. Can you take a picture of the right side with the receiver?

I couldn't see the transmitter screen real close, but did you plug the battery in first then turn the transmitter on? If so, it is a good practice to turn the transmitter on first then plug the battery in. Then after a flight to unplug the battery then turn off the transmitter.

I am just starting to get more little bits and pieces, but it also wouldn't hurt when you rebind it to have the throttle stick all the way down and the throttle trim all the way down. It looks like the trim is half way up. That sometimes won't arm the 3in1.

Hey nick, thanks for checking out that video. Yes the AR6100 has always taken that long to boot up, sometimes it fires up quicker then others. So the fuse on the motors? Replace or Remove? I tried contacting horizon, they told me that my blades were probaly too flat, so he suggested giving them a twist for 90 seconds, i just thru new blades on instead. sorry, im new to all this, rebinding, is that reseting the remote basicly? how do you do that? Thanks for the tips on the battery and turning on the transmitter, i will make sure to do that the way you say. I will also keep the throttle trim down, yes it was at the halfway. Going to take a picture of the right side now, should be up shortly

When the receiver does that it can mess with other things that you wouldn't think off. I had one of my spektrum receivers act like that and it was messing with my gyro. Then I switched it out with a spare AR6200 and the receiver boots up right away and the gyro acts like it should. If you got the CX2 from a local hobby store I would take it too them and have them send the receiver back to horizon. Then you might be able to get a free receiver from the hobby store. Or if the helicopter is less than a year old you can get the receiver fixed for free under the warranty and the shipping should be free.

You can remove the fuse, but I can't remember what type it was. I was thinking it was an over temp protection fuse. So as long as you don't run the electronics to hot you should be fine.

eattoomuchrice had a bunch of links for the CX/CX2. One that comes to mind is boiling the blades. There was a video or a write up on how to do it. I can't remember if it was for the stock or upgraded blades, but basically it brings the blade back to the correct shape.

Rebinding sets the defaults of the servos/ throttle and some other stuff and how the receivers talk to each other. You should have a bind plug that came with the helicopter. Then put that into the BATT pin on the receiver. Then this is the exception when you plug the battery in first. Then hold the bind button on the transmitter and turn the transmitter on. Keep holding the bind button until the orange light goes solid.

Here is a video of me binding the AR6100 on my CPP with a DX7. I think it is a good visualization on how to bind. The only difference is where the bind button is.

The 3in1 has three type of circuits in one box. It has the mixing for the motors, a gyro, and a speed controller. Then with the 4in1 a receiver is also in the same box.
