Why on earth would you possibly want an electric 4-tec? The nitro 4-tec already handles bad enough, the electric compounds the problem.

I would highly recommend you look at something else. In the price range of that car you can get far superior cars.

I would not get the electric 4-tec unless you manage to get it for a ridiculously good deal.

I'm not trying to be mean, I just want to let you know that there are far superior cars for the price.

I would think twice about buying a 4-tec. They look to be going the "way of the dodo". Stores have slowly stopped selling them until only a very few still do. Parts are also become more and more scarce. If you're looking for a car to just drive around for fun, Tamiya's tt01 would be good as would the M03 or possibly the m04. For more competitive driving, the Tamiya TA05, HPI Sprint 2 or Hot Bodies Cyclone.

I have to agree with the previous 2 you dont want to get a car and have to rely on ebay for parts. I would definately consider either tamiya or hot bodies they have very nice kits for good prices.

I want something that can go fast as a stock car, something popular that I can get parts for readily, and be able to upgrade with good stuff.
If you have or know anyone that has something nice for sale please drop me a line.
Right now I only have $110 so something worth that.
Thanks

Heres 2 I found so far they may go over your price but probably not by much this would be your best bet for a good car. The ta-05 is really upgradeable. Enjoy

Yeah your better off going with a hpi,hot bodies, or a tamiya kit or somthing. Im really hoping they will upgrade the 4-tec to vxl.

That would be cool. I bet if they do though they will take their design from all the other tourers out their and drop all the plastic that the old 4tec had.

I bought a used (about 6 years old) t-tec with MRC Charger and 3000 MAH battery all for $ 50 from a kid at school. The car is not up to par with other electrics I have tried. If you can find a similar deal on a low end car buy one for learning to race, till you have the ability to drive better and more money to spend. Then get rid of it for what you paid. If you have $ 150 or so you might just buy a used quality car from people at some local track, seems quite a few people have spare cars to sell in that range that are decent.

In my opinion the car has poor control in accelerating, braking and cornering. Is quite sturdy though and has survived a few crashes. Useful for learning to drive on the track on a very limited budget, nothing more.

Just my opinion, I am driving it while learning and looking for a better car for now.

I think you better off getting a hot bodies cyclone kit and take the esc, motor, radio system out of one of your cars into this one.

You guys have no idea what your talking about I have had my E-4tec for 7years and I am not kidding either. You don't understand that this car is over 10 years old so its not going to be the best car out there right now. Its not fair to take a car like the E-4tec and compare it to a hot bodies touring car or a Tamiya. Yes the car is not the greatest I admit but its given me pletty of trust and love which will not stop. So if he wants it I say let him. Theres nothing wrong with that car , you guys have no say in what this car is like since half of you on this thread don't even have one. So with all that being said, I think he should get it, its a great deal and looks decent and you can still buy parts for the E-4tec online at Rcplanet.com so there you go.

You are right in some ways, the 4-tec was a great car 10 years ago but now a days it is getting very outdated. You would be much better off getting a used ex-racer than a 4-tec. Not saying a 4-tec isnt good for a beginner, just saying there are better things out there.
