Well I tore my O.S. CV-R .18 engine apart to replace the front bearing and discovered a hair line crack in the crank case. Since I have over two gallons of fuel through the engine I'd rather put the $40 for a new crank case towards a new engine. I liked the O.S. .18, but I was also looking at the Team Associated Z.18S Spec 2 engine for about the same price. I dont race the truck just bashing so I dont care if its not the fastest engine, but I do like speed. I'm just looking for a very reliable engine. I was wondering how the Associated engine compares to the O.S. engine. I love the Associated eingines in my MGT (stock 4.6) and TC3 (stock .15).

Thanks,
Corey.

Hey cojo... I just replaced my OS .18 in the RC10GT today and found it easy to break in and much better performance than the earlier OS .12 i had in the car earlier. I found the OS .18 to have much better performence. IDK how long your Associated .18 lasted but my OS .12 lasted for 3 years! I got allot of life out of it considering id drive the thing just about every day. It also took a good beating because about 2 years into the motor, I found out i was running it way too lean. GOOD LUCK!

Thanks for the quick response. The OS .18 is what I had in the RC10GT and I need to replace it now. I was wondering how the Associated Z.18 compared to the OS engine I had. They are about the same price, so I want the better of the two.

Corey.
