Hi,

I have been reading about a future brushless for my E-Revo and have found that there are not too much options for a 4s configuration (or more), MM is for 3s (without modding), and MMM is having a lot of issues for now. What other options instead MMM?

I found this Team Losi 1/8 Xcelorin Sensorless Electronic Speed Control , but havent found nearly nothing about it in forus or internet, and specs looks good, what do you think?

* 160A continuous current with 800A peak
* Prewired Losi EC5 power connector
* Accommodates a 3-5-cell LiPo battery pack
* High-speed cooling fan for lower running temperatures and protection
* Optimized for Spektrum or legacy radio systems
* Internal and programmable BEC
* Adjustable low-voltage cutoff to protect your battery investment
* Forward/Brake with Reverse or Forward/Brake settings
* Forward and reverse throttle limiting available
* Four LEDs to indicate functions
* Three preset drive profiles: 3S, 4S and 5S
* Quick Programming Card allows adjustments to the ESC without the need for a computer
* Includes three pre-programmed profiles for convenience
* PC setup software CD included for complete configuration of profiles
* Software interface allows for unlimited profile settings and tuning
* Adjust brake and throttle curve settings with the simple-to-use graphical interface software

since its not out yet nobody can tell you any reasonable experience with this esc.
but it sure looks good from the specs.

The Monster Max sounded like the answer to all of our problems. Instead, it introduced new problems. Maybe Losi will have the answers. I hope they do, but don't get your hopes up yet.

I'ld still go with the monster max even if it has some bugs, even though my sidewinder more of castle link had some trouble installing, the Castle Tech support has been amazing, + monster max can handle more power and the motors are faster...

The v2 MMM aren't that bad and the most robust option available, particularly given they aren't expensive. Mine is holding up very well. I think most of the issues have been fixed. Of course, there will always be a few failures. Unfortunately, the people in this hobby with the failures tend to be the most vocal so it sounds worse than it is.

The only other option you have is a MGM which is uber expensive and can be iffy performance wise (brakes not working, reverse going out) plus if you need to send it in for service, you have to send it to the Czech Republic. It can take several months to get fixed.

Yes, Castle is repairing all the deffective MMM , very nice support,and we know nothing about the reliability of this Losi ESC. MGm are good ones, and I live in europe, but they are rather expensive. Quark is another good possiblity, expensive too

I don't trust anyone else's sensorless ESCs other than Castle's. Losi has a sensored version of their ESCs so you might want to look into that though.

let the lab rats figure out the MMM and the 1/8 Xcelorin. just see what the flaws are before you buy one.

I guess I'm one of the firsts to have a Losi 1/8 ESC, it lasted 5 batteries.
I was using 5S 5000mAh lipo batteries, but it's supposed to be supported by this ESC.
I don't know if someone else has this problem. Now I'm ordering a MMM because a friend of mine got one and it works flawlessly.
Also I'm contacting Horizon Hobbies for warranty.

Here is a picture of what had happen...

Well , you can always expect some bugs to show up when something new comes out . Losi/Horizon has great support and sure they wil fix the situation promptly .

I know of two of these controllers. One burned during the first test run out in the street. The other burned during bench testing. So far, I've not read or heard about any the work. I would take my chances with the MMM.

Yes, I expect some bugs, but software bugs or somthing like that, not a burned out ESC.
This ESC is supposed to support 160A continuous, 800A peak. The batteries are 30C discharge rate, so the max Amp of this batteries are 150A.
It's under they specs.
I think Horizon is a great company, I hope not have problems with warranty.

Ouch. I think I'd wait for the MMM. They say on the site it should be ready for XMAS. Cross your fingers and hope.

Access, they are talking about the combo, the MMM is available from a time ago.
I'll receive one MMM tomorrow and I'll use it with the Xcelorin 2100KV. This weekend I'll attend a race with it, after that I'll post how it works.
If you want other than losi motors you could use Neu Motors.
