Can someone please direct me to a reputable dealer of A123 battery packs that won't drag me over the coals on the price. I need a 2 cell and 3 cell with Cellpro balancing /charging tab. Any help would be appreciated.

Patrick

Fromeco.org sells both genuine A123 packs as well as some lower cost LiFe packs.

Note: they don't show the Cellpro balance tab on their website, but if you call them, they stock those and will build the pack that way for you, no problem. I just got mine with Deans connectors for main RX power, plus balance taps. Good people there and VERY knowledgeable if you have technical questions.

I bought 2 4cell packs from CheapBatteryPacks.com. You can get them with any connectors you want. I use Polyquest taps with my Cellpro chargers.

You could always make your own packs. I just opened up one of those Dewalt battery packs. 10 A123 cells in it. About 12 bucks per cell. A little more work, but you get more bang for your buck I think.

Can you advise me about the Polyquest adapters for use on A123 cells to charge useing the FMA charger. I have both the 4S as well as the 10S charger but find they will not charge 123's unless they have the balance tabs, which mine don't have.

I wish I could help but can't. I bought mine with the Polyquest taps because of just what you stated. Just finished charging one of my packs for the first time and it took 40 minutes using the balance tab. I was charging LiPo's earlier and each took over an hour and a half. These were 3700 packs.
