I have this engine on an OMP edge. What is the recommended prop? I have tried 12x4...dont like it... tried apc 14x4w...much better...but still lacks the throttle response is there a better prop for this combo?

thanks in advance.

I use an APC 13x4 sport blade with pretty good success.

If you want faster throttle response you can just forget about the APC props. Use the above recommended sizes, but go for a wooden prop instead and you will have lightning fast response due to much less mass in the prop. The wooden ones are about half or less the weight of same sized APC.
I use mostly wooden props for my 3-D flying, but also APC sometimes.

I have heard a lot of people complain about the throttle respons on the .55AX, but I'm still running the stock muffler and my response is terriffic. I even ran a Zinger 14x4 for a few flights with only minimal lag.

No argument though, that the woods are lighter than APC.

I have run both wood & APC prop combinations & I agree that either the 13-4 W or the 14-4 W APC is the hot set up on my Twist. I even lowered my nitro to 20% & dont see a noticeable difference. The motor does take a bit to spool up with these size props, but it actually helps me control my hovering. The wood props do spin up faster, but i just am not happy with them on my Twist. The smaller props perform well but the speed of the plane increases proportionately. I did have to increase the tires for ground clearance though! Just my experience....Gene

Top Flight makes wood props in the size range listed above, however they are not the Wide blade props. I am sure other mfg's make these sizes also, these are common sizes.........Gene

Xoar 13-4 or 14-4 work great for 3d flying.

Zingers are wood props.

Xoar, as noted above, makes wood props in this size range. They are kinda spendy however, and not as durable as APC or MA S2 series. I treat myself to a Xoar every now and then, but can't afford to use them all the time because my thumbs aren't up to the task.
