does anyone know if a futaba transmitter will work with a acoms receiver plus no this is gunna sound silly but do the crystals in handsets and receivers go faulty or break ?

I really can't answer question about the TX/RX, but I can tell you that yes, crystals do sometimes go bad. I used to be big into CB radios, more specificaly making them do what the FCC didn't want them to. I have had people come to me needing crystals replaced because they went bad. I'm not sure if they fried or broke because of a harsh shock. I never took the time to tear one open and see whas inside.

it should work as long as the RX is on the same channel and the same shift... futaba is negative shift...
