Hey all... Not entirely sure you can get turnbuckles for the Trex, yes/no???

I have been in the process of making my own turnbukles for my K2. Xtreme makes turnbuckles for the King 2 but only for pitch adjustments. I'm making mine for adjusting the swashplate as well.

If I was to make some more for swashplate and pitch adjustments do people here think there would be a market for them and/or would you buy them???

Thx

happy fly'n

Great idea Dawg, I'm sure the 450 crowd would love them.

I have 2 sets of turnbuckles for the KingII. They are great I really like them. They are kind of hard to use at first. The thing that I have figured out is the adjustment of the buckle is kind of course on the threads so you only have to turn them slightly when your tracking gets close. One other thing that could be improved upon is you have to carry this little piece of rod that looks like an allen wrench. It is not an allen wrench it is round and hardened. It is very small and you have to put it in a hole drilled in the turnbuckle to adjust it. It is a pain to deal with because it is so small and the hole it fits in is very small too. 2 things that need to be changed on the buckles is the threads need to very fine and the buckle needs a hex nut machined on it instead of a hold drilled in it. If you make turnbuckles you are going to need a left handed die to thread them on one end and right handed die to thread the other end. I have been making push rods for a while and you really need an adjustable die. This will help you on the very small increments when threading the rod. You also need an eye loop or a magnifier to look at the threads and make sure they are cut deep enough to hold the link. Just some things I have encountered while making rods. Hope it helps you. One set of buckles on the head and one set on the swash plate would be ideal for setting up the heli without have to take the links off. Great idea!

Honestly, I use the good ole' eyeball method for getting my swash level and it works great.

Everyone has their preferences... some don't like change and will buck it... thats hat makes the world go round.... that and gravity

I actually go eyeball when leveling the swash too, but with the turnbuckles I don't have to pop any links off AND I can get finer control over the adjustments other than half turns on the linkage. With both swashplate and pitch linkages on turnbuckles you can get much finer tuning on ur heli... we all known that the heli's are all about setup setup and setup...
