I do not usually post to the forums. So here goes...
In July, I spent some time in the UK with good friend and this is what we came up with.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Your plane looks superb! Very nice small jet!!! How did you build it? It it a wood construction?

Guten Tag Jochen,

Being a German/Canadian I appreciate you chiming in.

The Tutor is designed to be a Jet Trainer or Advanced Trainer.

The Tutor Is built primarily of Depron. It utilizes box construction technique for the fuselage, the nose cone is layered. The Wing is a Foam Core sheeted with 2mm Depron and has a aluminum rod for stiffening. The Canopy is vacuum formed. This produces a very light but strong airframe. Power is provided by a 3000kV Outrunner using 3S1800 Li-Poly. It has been tested to 80 mph. On the other end, it also slows down very well.

Hope that captures the essence of the Tutor.

I am a Canadian who happens to live in the US. I love the idea for your model. It is a first that I can tell!

I was one of the first to create a Snowbird Ducted Fan that graced the cover of Flying Models in 1987. It was a 66 inch wingspan plane that flew on the Byron Fan. From there, I designed a 90 inch scale version that flew on the Dynamax. Today, I am working on a 100 scale version that is 1/4 scale.

The only other Snowbird models that I know of was a team in Quebec who also did a 66 inch version about 10 years ago that flew with a Dynamax fan and a small turbine. I know them. And of course, the manufacturer in Europe of a larger version.

I have had my plane featured on the cover of Canadair's newsletter. I have the factory drawings (or as good as) that can be gotten. From there, we made a 3D version in Rhino.

Not sure how I can be helpful. I can see some simple scale ideas that would make the plane a little more scale like. I am very familiar with the flight characteristics and the design. For example, the plane flies best with a 2 degree incidence at the root with a 2 degree washout. The plane will pitch with changes in throttle like the real one. A scale nose light would make it cool in the air.

Please let me know how to be helpful. I can send pics if you want to see the models.

O, I do my own design and fiberglass work. Not in the business, just enjoy the hobby. I have shown the 90 inch Snowbird to the Snowbirds may years ago. Someday, my goal is to fly the scale version for them.

Love to get one of your Snowbirds to fly here. Any way to do that?

Status: offline 		Hi David, I was snooping around in the electric jets and found your post. Glad to see your still alive and well and modeling. I've been working on scale warbirds these days and still want to do a CT-114. Work gets in the way. Know its years since we talked.
