I have no idea what I did wrong, but maybe somebody can get me straightened out.
I finally splurged and purchased the upgrade headblock and blade grips. Since installing them the pitch is reversed. Now the pitch is like "0" at high throttle and "15" at idle. I've check and double checked the linkage set-up and it seems right. I've also checked out the settings on the DX6i and everything seems good there. If I could just land and take-off inverted I'd be fine, but...

Hey gmschool,

Hmmm, not sure how or why it's reversed, but I can tell you how to reverse it back...go into swash mixing, and look at your pitch setting, and reverse it. In other words, do a mirror image of it in the opposite setting.

If it is say, -70 then put it to +70. Try that and it should be exactly reverse of what it is now.

As for why it changed, if all you changed was the block and grips, the problem has to lie in there somewhere...but if it works with the swash reversed, I wouldn't worry about it. It is common (and I had to do it) to reverse the swash when changing the servos, as most servos operate in reverse of the Eflite ones. So, there is no harm in trying to reverse the swash pitch mix. You should not have to change any other swash settings, just pitch.

Hope this helps, although I'd be very suspicious and double check your liinkages, as that seems like it would have to be the root cause of your problem...

Glenn

Did you reverse the grips, so it is now a leading edge control instead of a trailing edge? That will always reverse the pitch. Can you list the pitch curves in the transmitter and with a pitch gauge list how many degrees the blades move at no throttle, half throttle, and full throttle. Do that for normal and idle up. With those things it should be pretty easy to see what is going on.

Thanks guys for your input.
Last night I went over things again and here's what came out.
I reversed the blade grips, now the control arm is at the trailing edge, but that didn't fix the pitch problem. I checked my DX6i manual and the swash mix is supposed to be set on +65, as mine was, I changed it to -65 and that fixed the problem completely. I have no idea why this has to be set backwards, but now everything's working great so I'll leave it this way until somebody comes up with a better idea as to what might have happened.
Thanks again for the input and
HAVANICEDAY.
Mike
