Finally get to start building my NIB BVM F-16 for turbine!! Question is (for those who have flied one on turbine) what servos (torque) should I be using?
I was thinking 90oz for alierons and rudder, and 140-180oz for elevator stabs. Too much? Too Little?

thanks!

Don't recall if there was any mention of what servo's were used, but here is the link to an excellent article by Gordon Dickens for converting the BVM F-16 to turbine power.

If you can stir David Ribbe up, he also would be an excellent source for info.

I have read Gordon's mod a few times now, no servo info though.

Another questions I had is, is bvm 's aeropoxy the same as hysol (sp?)? Is there need to use the carbon fibre strainds around rear bulkhead if I use one of those aeropoxies?

There are a lot of different-make 1/8-ish scale F-16s flying with lots of documentation here and in the jet magazines... Generally, you are limited in the wing and fin by the thickness (or lack thereof ) of the airfoil, and pretty much have to use a narrow servo in the wing (HS5245, JR 3301) and the tiny thin digitals in the fin. The stabs are pretty big, and it certainly doesn't hurt to put all the power you can behind them as long as the linkage system is strong enough.....and importantly, you have sufficient battery power and voltage getting to those servos in the tail. By personal choice, I am running the biggest non-digital ( I hate buzzing noises !!!) servos I could find on 6 volts which works out to around 150 os of torque or so......
