Hey guys i bought a barely used blade CX for about $100 was flying it today and chipped the 2 upper blades but it still flew low... i went higher and the blades self destructed pretty much. im a noob to electric flying or any flying for that mater. but the thing is mad fun! going tomorrow to get some new upperblades is there any stronger ones? or should i just rough it, and learn to fly also could i boil them? on my cars i boil the a-arms and stuff and makes them more flexible so they are less prone to break. thanks guys!

I would just by extra blades, you get 4 blades in one pack for like 4 bucks, cant really beat that

And I strongly recommend boiling them. Most of the blades are pretty straight. Yeah, MOST of them. Why take the chance. If you boil them for a minute they'll come back to very straight and that will help with blade balance - not weight balance, lift balance. Also called tracking.
Boiling won't make the blades any more flexible (at least not that I'm aware of). Just be sure to hang them up when they come out of the water. You only need to hang them for a few seconds, then they'll be cool enough that they won't change their 'set'.

And if you haven't looked yet, here are a bunch of really great information sites for new CX fliers. Follow this link and I guess you can start at the top and work your way down. CX2 help sites

Good luck, be patient, have fun and welcome to this crazy hobby!

Solo is correct. If you have some extra cash in your pocket have a look at the Xtreme blades and grips. I wouldn't recommend doing them without beefing up the motors first as they do add weight. The Xtreme blades will take a hell of a beating!

Madmax22 ~

Welcome to our world....Lol.. Very addicting yes... The boiling works great as Solo suggested. The added flexibility from boiling the blades, not sure... But like in our RC car world, here with the heli's there are other plastic parts that can be boiled for more flexibility. some guys on there gorilla gear skids even boil em' for more flexibility than what they offer stock.

Keep an eye out for those imperfections on those CX2 blades. If ya can't get it tuned or tracked very well, you can always try swapping and trying different blades. Put a few blades on a glass surface flat, and tap them, Also looking down the sides, and you'll see some differences and warps in them.

But on a positve note, It's all worth it cause the CX2 is a blast, and I still love mine today. A very nice little heli, and I had my fair share of flying, and tweaking with it. I hope the same for you........

Have a good one,

~ Jeff

Hey madmax22,
I have a CX2 and I finally upgraded to the Xtreme blades and I'm really happy with 'em.
Now I get to fly more between blade changes. I've been learning now fro six months, now I can Take off slowly, hover with ease, and land slowly on a mouse pad. I control the heli now instead of working to keep it in the air and away from stuff.
I just want to recomend the xtreme blade set-up because I'm really pleased with it.
I also purchased the pod and boom kit and gear upgrades and EXTREEM motors with brushes and bearings and cooling slots. I can fly my CX2 in a slight breeze now.
Check out www.flyrivesud.com for their upgrade kits. I had really good service from them.
Mike
