Good Day to all friends

I use Scotch "Pressure sensitive tape" double-face sticking tape on the wing leading edges, but -apart from it is very expensive- it sticks also very hard on the wing and causes damages (especially to foil-covered wings) when I have to move it for replacing.

Is there any other solution?

Thank you in advance

Regards

George

Hi George,

Do you mean to make the leading edge sticky for getting cuts? At most contests in the US guys are typically using a sticky pest barried called "tanglefoot". It is very sticky, so generally it's only used in contests, and not bothered with for "Club Combat". (I personally feel Club Combat combat is more fun without the sticky leading edges anyway) One trick to help clean up the Tanglefoot after a contests is to apply a strip of packing tape or painter's tape to the LE before you apply the Tandlefoot.

There is also a good citrus solvent sold by the Tanglefoot people that cleans it well, although Wal-Mart has similar citrus cleaners. We have a link right to the Tanglefoot and the cleaner on our links page: http://www.treneffrc.com/links.asp

Thank you very much Alex

we use double-face sticking tapes because otherwise it is to difficult to catch the oponent's streamer with only the propeller.

The problem is that when we remove the tape from the wing, it takes out also the covering foil, or some of the paint !

To use a painter tape as a background for the sticking tape sounds a really good idea, only it will degrade a little the appearance of the model.

And of course, the main problem is the cost of the Scotch transparent, double-face sticking tape, that we will stick on the background tape.

Regards

George
