Just wondering if a Zenoah G23 would be ok for this plane. Its an older engine but still has alot of power left in it. It is for a kid in our group that had his plane stolen in a robbery of his dads garage. I had given him a Skyshark Edge 540 and he was supposed to go to an IMAC competition in Pensacola. I have been teaching him how to fly sence he was 8. Now he is 11 and a very good pilot. Our members have donated a radio and a G23 and are looking into getting the Edge 540 for him. Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Joshua

I would say that your best bet would be to find a 50cc engine. I dont think that the 23 will be enough for IMAC tpe flying. DL has a very nice 50cc and so does Tom with the TOC 53. They are both very affordable engines.

He is asking about the 25% (the baby edge). 50CC would be to big. I was flying mine with an os 1.6 at about 9.5 pounds and it had crazy power .

13 pounds? What did you do?

Mine weighs 9 1/2 lbs. with Thunder tiger 1.20, RTF. What could you possibly do to add 3 1/2 lbs.?

Does the G-38 weigh that much?? I had a friend that had one on a Great Planes Gene Soucy 300S and it only weighed in a 12 pounds MAX. Maybe they have changed something?
I will try the G-23 on the Edge and see how it works. I should be ordering one, I hope, in the next few days. Our members are trying to get the money together to get him a plane. May take a bit.
Looking foward to see the plane though. I heared it was a beautiful plane to see in person. One of our friends has one of their Extras and it is very fine looking plane. 50cc though. Tracks
like it is on rails.

AnyWho, thanks,
Joshua

I just thought it was the weight of the G-38 an I sent it to Ralph for a conversion, weighed 11lbs with 26SSR. Tom is the 73"" your baby edge 25% ? I"ll double check my weight

Yes, the baby Edge (new version) is the 73" plane. Maybe you have the older version, it had sheeted foam wings, the new ones are built up.
