I have a Goldberg Extra 330. it's probably just below the 50cc category .
i'm about to buy servos for it. but i want those servos to be good enough for 100cc model . So in case i will upgrade i will have servos for it.

now i was looking at the tower hobbies http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPHD4&P=0
TS-150 Std Digital HT 2BB MG
SPECS: 4.8V 6.0V
Speed: 0.26 sec @ 60° 0.21 sec @ 60°
Torque: 162 oz-in (11.7 kg/cm) 193 oz-in (14 kg/cm)
Length: 1.6" (41mm)
Width: 0.8" (20mm)
Height: 1.5" (38mm)
Weight: 1.9oz (53g)
Connector: Universal
Spline- 25

the are only $40 each. and tower got TODAY $20 off , on $150.

But my friend at the field ( that fly 100cc planes) told me yeah they are nice but they ARE NOT coreless! he says that coreless servos center much better. and it is more
important then Digital.

He recommended me on Airtronics 94358Z that are 200Oz coreless and now go on sale for $60.

So what you guys think ?

thanks

What's a cordless servo? One with no electric cord to it?

Go with the Hitec HS-7955's, they have 333in/oz of torque and cost $95 each at Donald's hobbies. If you are moving up to 100cc airframe in the future these will work great for you and you will never think you didn't buy enough servo. Your buddy was right, those $40 servos will not work in a 100cc airframe.

I have Hitec 985 coreless analog servos. (not digital). in my 29 % ultimate they work just fine. I have those in the tail 1 on each elevator and one on the rudder. I also have Hitec 645 cored motor on the ailerons one each. Tha coreless are much faster and more accurate than the cored servos. I don't see a need for digitals unless you want more than one servo on the same control surface. Tower has a 2 for deal on 985, and the sale never ends at tower just a new one each month. just my opinion, skyflyer
