theres a guy selling a mamba max 6900 setup for 175 is it worth it and is the motor even worth bashing it with my slash or should i get it and sell the motor and use the vxl with the mamba max esc???

one other question could the mamba max esc take a brushed motor like the titan 12 turn??

the mamba motor and esc is way better the the vxl and much faster to. my mm 5700 still running great and i got it the day it came out. a few friends who have vxl have been giving them problems just week after getting one. i would get the 5700 you can run a 3 cell lipo on it and it the faster of all the mamba motors becouse of that. but if you never plan to use a lipo the 6900 would be best

it does run brushed motors now, but why would you want to . the stock esc that you have will do just as go of a job

I think that venom stick packs have a bad reputation. The general consensus is that you need high quality cells to properly unleash brushless power, or better yet get a lipo

i'd be wary of the 5700.
people everywhere say it's great.

but try and use it for bashing for 15 mins with that lipo (you are maby gonna get).
it'll most likely overheat
if it were me i'd be selling hte 6900 and getting a velineon motor to go w/ the mamba ESC as i have been told that it's one of the best combos out there.
and it will run cooler too. (lower KV and higher turns)

and venom nimh's SUCK!!!! everyone buys them and about 80% blow up!!, why do people buy them? cause there cheap and the LHS always stocks them.
DONT BUY VENOM.
but venom lipo's are pretty nice tho, good voltage under load

We run a 6900 system in a stampede, geared like 15/90 or less to keep the temps down. It does get a little hot w/tallon tire/rims, but nuthin to get worried bout, I can hold my hand on the motor for more then 10 seconds without burning me. I already had a velineon esc die on me last week in my rusty, but the motor is still good. I only run 6c IB4200's right now and I'm happy with the speed and torque of thw 3500kv velineon motors, I dont have a lipo of my own yet and havent seen the full potential of the motor. In 2 weeks I too will be running a mamba esc/velineon motor combo in my rusty.

And yes, the mamba esc's are capable of running any brushed motor, no limit!

Say I get the Sidewinder esc. I know it has a no turn brushed limit like my novak gtx does with the same programmable features but can I put a Banzai 17.5 in it? They are sensored FYI. And if the 17.5 runs sensored, how will it run when the esc in unsensored?

Bishop has new mamba max combos for like 10 bucks more than what you're lookin at. A 17.5 would work with a non sensored esc, just it will act like a non sensored motor and will probably cog a bit at low startups. I've tried this with a mamba max, but have heard it doesn't work so well with the sidewinder esc. If you are serious about putting a brushless setup in but not going to use lipos and want it to run cool, I'd suggest getting lrp's a.i. pro or novak's xbr and using that 17.5 til you can afford a new more powerful sensored motor. Like a 9.5 or so. It'll give you better than stock power, run cool, run smooth, and you won't run into any issues commonly associated with mamba and vxl systems.

I dont have that Banzai 17.5 motor. But I am gonna get it for whatever esc I get. I think I will spend the extra money on a Novak GTB or maybe Speed Passion brushed/brushless as Stormer has the esc for $200. I am going to run lipo in it soon. I am going to get a Orion 3800 2 cell 30C battery. I am going to get the 17.5 for 2 reasons. 1, it has alot more torque than Novak so I can gear it higher without losing the torque I need. 1 person did that and he said his was keeping with with mod buggies. And 2, I am going to race in stock truck amature and once I get my xxx-cr stock buggy amature so I need to run a stock motor or 17.5. I had to run in beginner because my p2k2 stock motor is really bad.

Ahh, yeah definately stick to a sensored esc for racing. I don't know if it'd be worth all the money for a gtb, but if I were that serious about it, I'd go with the sphere. Alot of the top racers use the sphere, but go with novak motors. I'm sure any difference between the two is minute and won't be noticed, but thats just what I hear.
