F-20 Throttle Linkage - 9/1/2008 2:34:45 PM

Status: offline 		This is a pretty simple question for many experienced modelers - I just want some ideas for connecting this throttle cable to my Jett 50 without using a Z bend. I guess it will involve glueing some kind of linkage to the rod since its not threaded, I'm open for suggestions-

Status: offline 		whats wrong with a z bend? Is you wire to short?

Can the throttle arm come off?

You could solder a hollow shaft containing a threaded rod the other end on it. Then you use a clevis on the threaded rod.An adjustable Plastic clevis may be best as its not going to wear the hole in the throttle arm away and not cause any metal to metal noise.

Status: offline 		Use clevis with a piece of fuel tubing over it to prevent it from popping off

Status: offline 		Thanks guys, the rod is not too short, I could use the Z bend but I want to avoid metal to metal contact and the Z bend sometimes have some slop in them. I suppose I need to find out the size of the rod and get a threaded end to fit it, then solder it on and use a plastic clevis. I was trying to use stuff I have on hand and I don't have any threaded ends this small of a diameter.

Status: online 		....yep, solder a threaded end on it, and use a plastic connector.
