well I finally got around to taking a short video of how I use a break in bench.... the video is clips of tank #4 and #5..the motor has already been heat cycled using a heat gun, as well as initially idled to seat the bearings...Usually around tank 3 I start to push the motor a little harder, and slowly but steadily I push the motors harder and harder till eventually I am opening them right up...If you notice the motor is blowing lots of smoke...as well the prop produces a significant amount of load and wont let the motor over rev...if you try to push RPM to far the motor will reach a certain RPM then just start to sag till you let off the trigger....I have done dozens of engines using this method with excellent results, i can have a motor track ready in as little as 4 tanks of fuel.......only downside is this is deafening, i usually wear ear plugs but I forgot to bring some when I shot the video..

Nice work
That prop seems pretty small though, is it actually putting enough load on the engine?

the prop is insanely pitched..its almost like pushing a flat blade...the amount of air it pushes is insane....the load of that prop is beyond the load you would ever see in any properly geared MT or Truggy..on a 21 the motor will hit around 30 000 RPM before it will fall off pipe and push no further...the prop is short for safety reasons, but to compensate its built with a very steep pitch, this is a specially designed prop, it is not an airplane prop converted....no plane motor would ever use a prop with this pitch, its far too aggressive....
