Very easy ....

Looking down on cylinder from above spark plug, note the shape of cooling fins around the slots / holes that access the cylinder screws on PTO side.

The 230 engines / cylinders fins are an open slot where there is NO fin cast around this access hole and instead is an open slot.

The 231 /260 engines have LARGER fins and @ 3/8" HOLES passing threw the fins to get at the screws.

** If a 231/260, you can tell them very easy .... The TOP fin under water jacket on PTO side will have 1 @ 1/8" HOLE or No hole if an early 231 ...... 2 @ 1/8" holes side by side if a 260 ( These small hole/s will be in the middle of top fin between the larger cylinder bolt access holes)

DDM was first a Go-ped site, they are probably calling the RC230 a 230, which is a 2 bolt cylinder head, just make sure you order the marine 260 or 231 and you'll be happy. Don't order the Sikk cylinder though as it is a 2 bolt as well.
