Status: offline 		I found a box of old RC stuff today while helping clean my dads old garage.
I haven't seen this stuff since 1986.

I know what 2 of them are but the 2 others I'm having a little trouble with

The little one I know is a pee wee .020. It was the first engine I bought back in 1984
The other 3 we picked up at a swap meet in the mid 80's

I believe the black one on the glider pod is a Black Widow .049


I'm not sure about the large one (a medallion I think) or the black one with the white tank.

that one is odd.. the crank case is plastic or fiberglass and the spinner is spring loaded... turn the prop backwards and let go.
The prop is marked testors

Status: offline 		You've got them pretty much nailed down. The one on the pod is a Black Widow, the one with the spinner is a Testors (Wen Mac), and the Medallion looks like an .09. Ross

I didn't know about the Wen Mac/Testors planes.

Do you think the .09 would fly ok on a House of Balsa FW-190?

I was going to use my OS .15 but this motor is much lighter.. I can live with no throttle.
might have to find a muffler though. Club rules and all.

Status: offline 		The Tetors is the "Testors 8000". It was the last .049 engine Testors made before going belly up. It is a good running engine. Here is a pic of some. The one on the right is a "Product" engine from a RTF. It has a pot metal crankcase whereas the others use a moulded carbon plastic crankcase.

I've made the exact same comment in another thread. George must have one of the premier collections of small engines in the states. I'm always impressed, as you have noted, that he has multiple engines and not just one.

Status: offline 		As stated, I have never counted them. I would guess over a hundred but less than 200. And no, it is not a "premier" collection. Some collectors have several times that many...in just one size, plus their others.

I never intended to be a collector...fully intended to have them all in the air at some point. I guess now it would take several lifetimes.
