OK guys, who's coming and what are you bringing? Plans are in motion and I'd like to get a heads up of how many or you are planning to attend.

Thanks Scott, it will be nice to see you there. For anyone planning to come to Octoberfest, there is a pre-registration document that can be downloaded from the VR/CS Yahoo Group files, the VR/CS website events page and the Cloud Kings events page on their website. The document also has information on area hotels, restaurants and attractions in Southeast PA and the Brandwine Valley. The flying field is located about 40 miles West of Philly (yup, where cheesesteaks and Rocky come from). There will be a shopping trip to Lancaster County for the ladies too. The area features Longwood Gardens, Winterthur and the Brandywine River Museum which houses the largest collection of Andrew Wyeth art. And, it's Columbus Day weekend so you get an extra day to do something.

The Ed Kazmirski Taurus will be on display and WEDJ has indicated interest in attending with his Perigee.

So far, the lineup of airplanes looks good. If you are planning to attend, download the preregistration form from either the VR/CS (http://www.vintagercsociety.org) or Cloud Kings (http://www.cloudkingsrc.org) websites. It will save you lots of time at the registration table and get you in the air sooner.

Im thinking about makeing the trip up. The wife wants to see her mom who lives in Pottstown Pa. About how far from Pottstown is your event? Nothing is definate yet she needs to see if she can get vacation. If i come up I'll bring my Trainermaster & Kaos. Thats all i can fit in the car. The truck would cost me a fortune in gas. I have been wanting to get up there for your event also. If you have a posted map or club info that would be helpfull. Thanks, Gene Poremba

Dinner is going to be at a local restaurant, the Ball and thistle Pub at the Wyncote Golf Club. http://www.wyncote.com/wyncote.asp?id=280&page=5624&group=5624

Gene,
Google maps shows the distance from Oxford to Pottstown to be about 48 miles. For maps go to http://www.cloudkingsrc.org and look for the flying fields page. In the events page, there is a MSWord document that you can download. It is a registration form with all the information you need. There are hyperlinks (text in blue) that you can select to take you to different websites for information on the area.

At most VR/CS events, the ladies (wives, girlfriends, or both ) usually storm the area with credit cards in hand shopping for local deals. I will have a chartered shuttle to take them away from all the flying field mayhem for 6 hours of shopping in Lancaster, PA. The shuttle will be at the headquarters hotel, departing at 10:00AM and returning around 4:00PM in plenty of time to get ready for dinner. If you are attending the event with wife, girlfriend (or both!), please give me an approximate head count so I can get a vehicle that can accomodate all.
