Ok, so I'm pretty new to the whole on road nitro car thing and I'm running a TA NTC3 with an OS .18TZ in it. I bought it from a guy and it had larger rims than stock and slick tires on it..I was having a hard time keeping traction with those tires, so I went back to the stock traction tires...Now it seems I'm having an even harder time keeping traction...I've been noticing alot of cars run slick tires and like I say, I'm kind of a newbie at the on road car thing (I have been running an HPI Savage for years). Can somebody explain to me if and why slick tires are better than traction style tires? These are the tires I'm running now:

I'm also wondering what glue you guys use for gluing the tires on the rims..I keep blasting the tires right off the rims..I'm using CA glue, but should I have scuffed up the rim first????

Those look really hard... If you want rubbers, get the HPI X-Pattern tires. They have great traction and last a good while (I'm running tarmac)
If you want even more grip, get some foams. Lower the shore rating is, the softer it is.
Softer it is, offers more traction, but less durability and vice versa.
I think the only things people run slicks on are slow electric on-roads.

You can tell they're hard by just looking at them? I like the looks of those HPI X Pattern tires, but I'm afraid I will probably end up with the same problem I have now.. It's impossible right now for me to take anything off the line because that OS is so freakin powerful!!! I want to be able to just shoot off the line and be gone!! So, I'll look into these foams that you are speaking of...any specific recommendations?

30mm wide rear foams and 26mm wide front foams.

HPI X pattern tires for the streets and use foam tires for the track.
I use X patters on my HPI RS4 with an OS 18 tz (on the streets) and I do get a pretty good launch out of that, foams on the streets will just spin.

Wow, you caught me just before I was going to buy some foams...Maybe I'll just buy both...then decide.

What gives better traction in a car park
Radials or slicks?

The radials you mean in fact are not "radials"...they are semi-slicks to be honest...radials are used only in real cars...so semislicks are better on wet surfaces and slicks for dry ones. Foams are for maximum grip at dry surfaces.

You mean that slicks are good when on wet surface??? Or you mean that there's no good slick on wet surface???

Slicks are not good in the rain. The water needs to be thrown from out inder the tires or in will hyrdoplane <what ever its called when tires float above water. If you ever see Formula 1 races..they change out the slick tires to treaded tires. No mater how good a slick is, its useless in the rain.
